Book 10 Chapter 7 of Tom Jones.

This is part of an ongoing project in which I will record and post one chapter per week of Henry Fielding's Tom Jones over the course of four years.

In this chapter, we finally conclude the events at the Inn at Upton. It turns out the mystery man who arrived at the end of the last chapter is Western! And he's in hot pursuit of Sophia. He finds Jones and immediately wants to try him for theft (of the muff) and kidnapping. However, Susan the servant girl saves Tom's neck by interceding and confessing all that Sophia did and told her. Western leaves in a hurry to find Sophia, Jones as well, and Mrs. Waters takes the coach to Bath with the Irishman Mr. Fitzpatrick.
