Book 15 Chapter 12 of Tom Jones.

This is part of an ongoing project in which I will record and post one chapter per week of Henry Fielding's Tom Jones over the course of four years.

One of the most beloved moments in the entire many-year run of The Simpsons is the longwinded story that Grandpa Simpson tells of his trip to Morganville. It's funny because it's a classic shaggy dog story: a story with seemingly no point which rambles on. This chapter of Tom Jones falls into the same category. Partridge rushes in to tell Tom the good news he's heard, but takes pages upon pages to come to any kind of point, and chides Tom at length for asking that he share the news as quickly and plainly as possible.
