Book 16 Chapter 6 of Tom Jones.

This is part of an ongoing project in which I will record and post one chapter per week of Henry Fielding's Tom Jones over the course of four years.

In this chapter, we rejoin Blifil and Allworthy, after what seems like years. They receive the missive from Squire Western to come to London so that Blifil can marry Sophia. Allworthy, ever shrewd, tells Blifil that he won't give his consent to the marriage unless Sophia consents of her own free will. With that, Blifil and Allworthy head to London, bringing the many disparate players in this novel together for the big climax.
